Electro-Pneumatic Positioner
Series EPP
Precise Electronic Control for Air-Actuated Ball Valves
Features
- 使用武力balance principle of operation and 4-20mA electronic signal for precise control of air actuated ball valves.
- Combine with Series ZC characterized or custom-profile ball valves for exact flow rate control.
- Compact, corrosion-resistant design.
- Complete calibration without removing cover.
- Large, clear position indicator.
- Repeatability <0.5% f.s. with hysteresis <0.6 f.s.
Design
Series EPP has a rugged, aluminum die-cast housing with a polyester coating. It is rated NEMA 4X, IP66.
Operation
The EPP incorporates the force balance principle of operation. The control signal value and actuator shaft work as opposing forces on a balance arm, which in turn controls air flow. Whenever the control signal changes, or the position of the actuator shaft changes, the force balance is also changed. Air is then automatically provided to the part of the actuator that will return the balance arm to neutral. The system is self-stabilizing and searches for a steady state position.
Positioner may be ordered as a complete air actuated ball valve assembly, or as a separate item. Ordered separately it is equipped with a mounting kit and braided connection for the 3/8" or 1/2" ABVA/ABVS, 3/4" or 1" ABVA/ABVS, or 1 1/4" - 2" ABRA/ABRS. When specified as a complete assembly with a"ZC" characterized ballprofile and used with 4-20mA electronic control, the unit functions as a precise, air actuated flow control valve.
Ball valves are offered in Geon PVC, Corzan CPVC, Natural Polypro, and Kynar PVDF. Actuators are available double-acting or fail-safe,for 1/2", 3/4" and 1" sizes, orlarger valve sizes to 2". If you have any questions or need assistance specifying a valve, we urge you to contact our Technical Group at (973) 256-3000 to discuss your application.
The unit requires compressed air via standard 1/4" NPT connection, 28.3 SCFM. Electronic cable entry is also 1/4" NPT.
